Innistrad’s Last Stand: Standard Mono-White Humans

Preservation edition · October 3, 2026 · Geekenstein Editorial

Historical source: Jake Petersen; publication date unverified. This is a newly written, condensed account of the retained coverage, with original opinions attributed to their writer. It is not a full-text reproduction or a new firsthand review.

The historical coverage

Petersen’s mono-white Humans article focused on a creature-based Standard plan. Its identity was coordinated early pressure, with the usefulness of a card depending on the surrounding curve and creature plan rather than isolated size.

That deck belonged to its historical card pool. The title’s Standard label does not make the same collection of cards legal today. Nor does the recovered discussion establish a present matchup percentage or a verified current sideboard.

The linked retrospective preserves Humans as one of five distinct plans and supplies a new comparison worksheet. It asks whether the deck develops early, whether its creatures can attack profitably and how it responds to a reset. Those are current analysis questions, separate from Petersen’s original choices and personal play account.

A present-day reading note

The following is new editorial analysis, separate from the historical writer’s words and play report.

When reviewing a game, record turns with unused mana and turns where a creature could not attack profitably. Those observations distinguish a mana-curve problem from a lack of finishers. The historical article’s card choices should be read within their original legal pool.
