Partial archive record · Original video missing
Original coverage: David Rhinehart. December 4, 2014. Preservation edition: Geekenstein Editorial, October 4, 2026.
This URL originally held Geekenstein’s video review of the first episode of Telltale’s Game of Thrones. David Rhinehart’s December 4, 2014 introduction survives, but the recording does not. This is a partial archive record, not a restored review, transcript or newly invented verdict.
What the recovered introduction establishes
Geekenstein was trying a format that folded the review into its Let’s Play coverage. Instead of making a separate review, the team would discuss the game informally as its credits rolled. Iron from Ice was introduced as the first test of that approach, and readers were invited to respond to the format.
The historical question
The introduction placed the episode alongside Telltale’s work on The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us and Tales from the Borderlands. It asked whether the studio’s approach would work in Westeros. That was the question posed before the video; the surviving text does not supply the team’s answer, a score or its assessment of specific choices.
The missing part of this review
The source retains a Springboard video embed with identifier 1222017. Its endpoint currently provides no playable recording in the checked public response. A search for the original Geekenstein Iron from Ice upload did not recover a verified replacement. The full review remains incomplete until that recording or an authentic transcript can be found.

Historical source and restoration notes
The source is the Common Crawl capture 20170222060842. Capture time is not publication time. The written source was reviewed before this edition was authored. Only the 144-word introduction survives; the central recording and verdict remain missing.
